Lady Lazarus is back with new full-length due October 18

Lady Lazarus is the solo project of Melissa Ann Sweat, a California-based singer-songwriter, artist, and creative writer who has received significant attention from The New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork, SPIN, Consequence of Sound, and many more for her singular brand of spirited and enchanting “dream folk-pop,” composed for mainly voice and keyboard/piano.

Richard Spitzer shares "Synthesizer" from upcoming LP

Richard Spitzer, of Brooklyn synth pop band Loveskills, branches off to release his debut self titled solo album on July 19. From the LP, today Spitzer drops the track "Synthesizer," his acoustic ode to the electronic instrument. Brightest Young Things, who premiered the track, had this to say about it: "'Synthesizer' embraces the weird and uncanny as something natural and honest. In less than two minutes, Richard Spitzer will dazzle you with his playful and loose lyrics, leading the song’s ironic acoustics."

red steppes LP out today, featured in NPR's New Music Friday playlist

Indie folk artist red steppes have a new album out today via Native Cat Recordings. The sophomore release, Arcs, is the fruit of a series of displacements, disturbances, and reorientations. Stylistically diverse, the album delivers minimalist guitar pop, mathy folk, and even a Peter Gabriel-tinged meditation on loss, finding equilibrium in songwriter Nika Aila States’ intimate vocals. Earthquake Lights tap 19 piece orchestra for in-studio performance

Earthquake Lights just released their new LP, Distress Signals, and they’re playing a show at Arlene’s Grocery tomorrow 5/25 to celebrate this new collection of tunes. To give you a taste of how these phenomenal songs come across in the live setting, Under The Radar premiered a special live performance of “So Far No Luck.” This gorgeous video features help from The Shattered Glass orchestra, and takes the song to a whole new level. Under the Radar shares new single/video from red steppes

Brooklyn via CA folk artist red steppes will be releasing a new album on Native Cat Recordings (John Vanderslice, Sis, etc) May 31 and today we have a new song and video premiering courtesy of Under the Radar, who say “The track is a minor key rumination on distance and growth, embroidered with delicate fingerpicking and haunting vocals.” The album is available for preorder via Bandcamp.
