Newscast share new single, "Alive" -- debut EP out this Friday, March 22

Newscast, a new duo comprised of Hayden Boyd and Sal Almakky, will release their 5 EP this Friday, March 22. "Alive" is the latest synthpop star from that release, with endless overlapping riffs and sparkling electronic touches, the song continues along the same lines as previous single, "Undercover," but simmers in its melancholic groove. The vocals are icy and distorted, mirroring the tone and theme of the lyrics, which are about the difficulties of loving someone else without being able to fully love yourself. Indie88 has the premiere for the new track—head over there and check it out or stream it below.

Shouldies share new track from upcoming LP at Wussy Mag

ATL synth punk trio Shouldies will have a new LP out on Graveface Records subsidiary NeverNotGoth on March 22 and today they’ve shared new track “running” over at Wussy Mag today. Vocalist/lyricist Yancey Ballard spoke with Wussy about his inspiration behind the track, stating “Being a comfortable trans person, maybe just a person in general, in the South relies on destroying your environment’s influence on you, destroying the cis heteronormative design that constantly reminds ‘you are not one of us’, an idea that invaded my thoughts when initially coming out because I craved some sort of normality and understanding, not necessarily to be cis, just to be understood.”

Preorder is available via the Graveface Bandcamp.

Newscast debut new single "Undercover" on Substream Magazine

Newscast, a new duo comprised of Hayden Boyd and Sal Almakky, release the first official single from their upcoming EP. "Undercover" walks the line between 80s new-wave nostalgic dance bop and sentimental ballad, with pulsating synths and lush melodies. The track explores a tumultuous restart to a relationship; feelings not only of hope, but also of fear, when one party wants to go public with the romance, but the other is leery of getting back into a relationship. With soaring choruses and earnest lo-fi synth grooves, Newscast deliver a dance-worthy and lush pop track, premiering on Substream Magazine.
