Earthquake Lights just released their new LP, Distress Signals, and they’re playing a show at Arlene’s Grocery tomorrow 5/25 to celebrate this new collection of tunes. To give you a taste of how these phenomenal songs come across in the live setting, Under The Radar premiered a special live performance of “So Far No Luck.” This gorgeous video features help from The Shattered Glass orchestra, and takes the song to a whole new level. Brooklyn via CA folk artist red steppes will be releasing a new album on Native Cat Recordings (John Vanderslice, Sis, etc) May 31 and today we have a new song and video premiering courtesy of Under the Radar, who say “The track is a minor key rumination on distance and growth, embroidered with delicate fingerpicking and haunting vocals.” The album is available for preorder via Bandcamp.

Dope KNife drops new track on Flagpole

Savannah based rapper, Dope KNife, has dropped a new track called “Make Perfect (remix)” featuring Linqua Franqa. Flagpole Magazine has the premiere of the fresh song, calling it “a mellow yet arresting number that cribs reverently from jazzy '90s boom bap while maintaining a fluidly psychedelic undercurrent.” Check it out below:


Memory Keepers share lyric video for "Faint Ink"

Austin’s Memory Keepers have shared a rad lyric video for their recently released single, “Faint Ink.” The lovely Week In Pop has the premiere of the video, which was done by visual analog artist, Astral Violet. About this, Jared Paul Boulanger of Memory Keepers had this to say:

Astral Violet is the moniker of analog mixed media visual artist Sydney Quezada. They’ve worked with artists like MBV, Roky Erickson, King Gizzard & more. Astral Violet’s stunning visual projections found them on some of the best bills in town (Austin, TX) as soon as they moved here, which is how we came to meet them. After they projected their light show on us at a few Memory Keepers gigs, we thought their trippy, visual experience would be the perfect backdrop to our new lyric video “Faint Ink”. It feels good to be completely absorbed in their light, while performing on stage...I could honestly watch their visuals for hours, sync’d to many types of music and be totally lost in space.
