Earthquake Lights recently released Distress Signals, their orchestral full-length that has seen praise from Uproxx, Under the Radar, The 405 and many more. Today, they’re sharing this intimate studio session recording with Shattered Glass, giving us a glimpse into the way all the instruments come together to create this beautiful song.
Austin’s Memory Keepers have shared a rad lyric video for their recently released single, “Faint Ink.” The lovely Week In Pop has the premiere of the video, which was done by visual analog artist, Astral Violet. About this, Jared Paul Boulanger of Memory Keepers had this to say:
Astral Violet is the moniker of analog mixed media visual artist Sydney Quezada. They’ve worked with artists like MBV, Roky Erickson, King Gizzard & more. Astral Violet’s stunning visual projections found them on some of the best bills in town (Austin, TX) as soon as they moved here, which is how we came to meet them. After they projected their light show on us at a few Memory Keepers gigs, we thought their trippy, visual experience would be the perfect backdrop to our new lyric video “Faint Ink”. It feels good to be completely absorbed in their light, while performing on stage...I could honestly watch their visuals for hours, sync’d to many types of music and be totally lost in space.

Oakland’s Night School have a new album coming out this Friday on Graveface Records. Today, they released the video for the track, “Marigold,” which is a shimmering step into a shoegaze dreamland. The Oakland outfit have crafted a hazy track with honeyed vocals and reverb soaked guitars. Earthquake Lights have a new album slated for April 5 from which we have already been treated to several delicious tastes. Today is a special treat, though, with the new Minu Park directed video premiering at Substream Magazine. The song speaks to the frustrations we can experience as we try to navigate success in our lives, something to which most of us can relate. Songwriter Myles Rodenhouse reassures that “We all face times like this, and it’s OK to pursue dreams and to fail.”
