Morhaf Al Achkar releases first single from Mabsoota LP

Lung Records is announcing the newest release from oud player, composer, and songwriter Morhaf Al Achkar. Born and raised in Syria, Achkar is currently based in Portland where he practices as a family doctor and a professor at The University of Washington. Morhaf was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer in 2016; he was 33. His cancer brought a sense of urgency to do and say what he wanted without waiting. Music and singing became an outlet for self-expression. This album, facilitated by David Beach, who is a stage IV lung cancer survivor and owner of Lung Records, sends an invite to the world to push forward with living, loving and finding meaning.
