Spectacles is out today!

NC’s shirlette ammons has released her Spectacles LP today.

Week in Pop says "...one of the most important releases of 2024. Spectacles is not just essential listening, but a record that is crucial for a universal revolution toward a higher level of consciousness that emphasizes the appreciation of everyone and everything according to all the attributes that make us all who we are (without pretenses, without judgement, without the tackiness and tasteless simplification of labels)."

Genre-bending Portland, OR band The Quick & Easy Boys are back with new single “Better Than Today” that sees the group exploring inspirations from 50s and 60s RnB/soul while keeping a modern sonic vibe. The track premiered today at V13 Media, who say, “‘Better Than Today' illustrates the band expanding their already vast horizons, with a sound reminiscent of early 1960s R&B and surf rock. Gilda House premieres new single "Anum Cara" at Week in Pop

Big thanks to Sjimon Gompers and Week in Pop for the wonderful review and premiere of the new Gilda House single! "Anam Cara" is out everywhere tomorrow, but you can stream it now HERE.

"Meg Gildehaus with Tony Morales and Nick Miles curate splashy synth bops that emulate the intrinsic interconnectedness of kismet connections. With emphatic keys that bounce to the beat and pulse like two kindred hearts, “Anam Cara” brings the subterranean cold of a clandestine nightclub with the lyrical warmth of discovering somebody special amid the swathes of synthesizer saturations." - Sjimon Gompers

"Last Night I Killed a Man" from The Fever Haze

The Fever Haze, hailing from Grand Rapids, MN will release a new album for Graveface Records next week, and today we receive a new treat in the form of a video for “Last Night I Killed a Man”. It’s not about murder. We promise. Band leader Jackie Kalmink explains it best…

"I wrote this about transitioning, and how the world opened up for me after I became my true self. It's also a letter of appreciation for the past versions of myself that got me to where I am now. I've always been 'me' but this song is about showing the world the real ‘me’ while acknowledging that I've always been me, just within." - Jackie Kalmink

shirlette ammons shares new video feat Amelia Meath

shirlette ammons has many friends and collaborators on her upcoming Spectacles LP, including Amelia Meath of Sylvan Esso lending vocals to “Hello” which is out today alongside a video filmed during the pandemic. It’s an appropriate pairing as the song speaks to the isolation we all felt during that time. Check out the premiere at Ghettoblaster and preorder Spectacles here.
