Formed by brothers Ethan and Asher Payne, Easter Island creates panoramic post-rock inspired dream pop. Behind the wall of towering drums, glassy guitars, and the forceful tide of synthesizers hide soft-spoken melodies, tender harmonies, and understated musings on the subtle, yet visceral moments in life. The past three years have seen the band working in secret quarters on their new record Island Nation, while also touring all over the US.
Easter Island have performed at a number of festivals such as SXSW in Austin, CMJ in New York City, and Treefort in Boise, ID. The band has also received favorable press from Paste Magazine on a number of occasions, PopMatters, The Knife Fight, and several other national publications. The song "Proud" from 2012's Frightened was licensed for the ABC series "Off the Map" and other songs from the band's catalog have been featured on various TV series over the years. They are currently on tour supporting the second single "Always Room for Another" from their upcoming sophomore LP Island Nation.
