Trickshooter Social Club take an oddly literate, completely eclectic approach to fuzzy, tweedy, garage-y, country-tinged, stomp and clap American rock-n-roll. Sometimes singer/songwriter, sometimes loud and unapologetic – their songs are a little whiskey-soaked and world-weary – but always leave room for redemption.
Hailing from Chicago, the band celebrate their musical mosaic of roots, alt-country and blues… the sound of garage rock with a conscience.
With two albums under their belt the band’s third, titled American Experiment (2019), recorded at Chicago Recording Company with Grammy award-winning engineer producer Jon Zacks garnered rave reviews.
Trickhooter Social Club have played with several national touring acts including Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame members Peggy Young and the Survivors (featuring Spooner Oldham). Their tours have taken them across the continent from Steppenwolf Theatre Chicago to Pianos NYC and the Whiskey a Go-Go in LA. Proud regulars at the House of Blues Chicago, Club Metro and Lincoln Hall, the band have gained solid support from Nick Digulio on WGN Radio as well as a host of music blogs.
Trickshooter Social Club is led by guitarist Larry Liss and frontman Steve Simoncic who drifted together after years of playing in bands around Chicago. Late night sessions in a recording studio with the smell of the studio owner’s girlfriend making tacos and the sound of the couple’s nightly shouting matches inspired Larry and Steve, who write all Trickshooter songs, to develop a storyline of edgy Americana, to which a cast of additional members “The Social Club” brings additional musical flavour.

“Starkly genuine and madly organic, full of sweating and dancing, and underscored by that which makes the band real: full-bodied guitars, rollicking vocals, and a sense of spirited escapism.” - Glide Magazine
“Thinking of America as an experiment, as an idea, as complicated and messy and violent and ugly and beautiful and sublime as it is. We’re living in really interesting, volatile times.” - The Daily Herald
“On American Experiment, Trickshooter Social Club serves up full-tilt Americana music, full of contagious rhythms and evocative vocals. Put simply, this is a grand album by a superb band. - Rawckus
“With its supercharged chorus and the sort of riff/guitar work that gets even the meekest of indie kids worked up, it’s a thing to hang onto for the ride. - BackSeatMafia
