"NYC Queen" is about as hard rock as it gets, with driving guitars and a catchy chorus to boot. This new release will see the group celebrating their 25th anniversary as a band, and this track sees them balancing influences of yesteryear with modern twists. Becca Richardson will be officially releasing her new album, We Are Gathered Here, tomorrow, October 6, but the folks over at Brightest Young Things have the premiere of the stream. Two days ahead of the release of their forthcoming What Happened? EP, Ann Arbor's After Hours Radio have premiered the full stream over at Earbuddy. The four track EP features bright indie rock and melodic guitar riffs from the band, and Earbuddy lauds it as "a solid effort from the young band that leaves us anxiously anticipating their debut full-length." Ural Thomas is a soul singer from Portland, OR who used to kick it with the likes of Otis Redding and James Brown. While Thomas ultimately didn't see the same massive success, he's still well known for his soulful pipes in certain circles in the Northeast. Paste Magazine was kind enough to share a new song from Ural Thomas and the Pain, one that was recreated from it's original release in 1896 for the Transference LP due out December 1 on Marmoset.
